It’s vacation day! I’m really excited to see some water. That is the one thing I miss about being home in Florida. I never appreciated growing up surrounded by beaches. The vibe is just different. So, it’ll be good to sit beachside and chill.
The topic of this morning’s tapping session was gratitude for people. The emphasis was on being grateful for all the people in your life, even those I have a conflict with, which often happens to be the people you love. But it was a reminder that being is in a state of gratitude always offers an opportunity for me to learn and grow. When love is in abundance, I’m reminded of how much I want to be love, give love, and receive love. It’s motivating. When there is conflict, I get to see more of myself—the shadow me is brought to the light. And sometimes, what’s revealed is a part of me that needs healing and a part that needs changing. I don’t grow without people. I don’t develop without experiences that stretch me beyond myself, which was reinforced this morning.
I want to appreciate the people who have made me who I am and continue to do so. Thank you, mom, for your unyielding and sacrificial love. Thank you for being so supportive of every single thing that I do. You think I’m superwoman, and that makes me feel like I can literally do anything. I appreciate your encouragement. It brings tears to my eyes because I know that no one loves me more than you. Your heart is gold, and all I ever want to do is protect it. I love you.
Thank you, Taborah. You have been a pillar in my life at each step of the way. You have protected me and made sure that I was okay. You have brought joy to my life through your humor and silliness. You have been a giver of things but always of love. You have been a source of truth and unwavering support. I admire your boldness and confidence to be you, and it has been inspiring. Thank you for pushing me when I didn’t want to be pushed. Thank you for holding me when I was about to fall. Thank you for being all the things I needed when I needed it, when I didn’t need it, when I wanted it, and when I didn’t want it. That is to say, thank you for your consistency. I love you.
Adrian, thank you for being a role model. A symbol of manhood for me when my father was not there. Thank you for taking care of me when I was little. I always felt protected and safe with you. I looked up to you and wanted to be with you as much as possible because I thought you were superman. I still do. Thank you for being a man of principle and integrity. Thank you for showing me what it looks like to stand on what you believe and how never to compromise yourself. Thank you for being a demonstration of self-confidence. Thank you for always being there to help me when I need you. When there was something I needed to get done, you’ve always been there. Thank you for loving me and supporting me in being me and living the life I want to live. I love you.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I could thank so many other people, and I know who they are and will make space here to thank them in the future. For now, I just want to bask in this feeling of gratitude because there aren’t three people that have impacted my life more and helped shape me more than them.
Gratitude to each of you.
