I managed to get up 30 minutes earlier than normal today. Getting up has been a challenge for me for longer than I can remember, but when I pulled myself out of bed at 6:30am I felt excited to get to my tapping in particular. I found a 3 week tapping series focused on supporting autoimmunity. I’m currently in the process of healing my autoimmune issues so this was right up my alley. I learned some time ago, but more specifically recently about how much unresolved emotions, stress, and toxic thinking can manifest into disease. So of course, when I saw this tapping series, I started it right away.
Today was my third day doing this series, but my sixth day of tapping in general. What I’ve noticed so far is the pain that I’ve felt in and around my neck and head has disappeared. Right up until I began tapping (and meditating and moving), I had been really struggling with scalp soreness, sharp pains in my head, soreness at the base of my skull but all of that has gone away. I don’t even remember feeling any of the random pains I usually feel in my back and legs. I know that tapping has had a lot to do with these improvements. I also know that moving daily and meditating have contributed also.
What’s clear to me is that the things that I’ve known intellectually are actually true. I’ve known for a long time that anything that manifests into the physical started first on the non-physical level. I just had never actually used these tools to support my psychological and emotional healing, and as a result my physical healing. Perhaps I didn’t truly believe it. I certainly do now. Especially when I spent the last 3 weeks on a protocol designed by my integrative medicine doctor. Not that what he prescribed did not work. I experienced some benefits. But it didn’t make me feel that way I feel right now. I’d like to think that these two approaches worked in tandem to help me feel better.
I’m still on this healing journey, but I am now armed with experiential knowledge that calming the nervous system, releasing long held energy and thoughts, creating space in the mind, and moving the body is the foundation for any form of wellness that I hope to establish. Knowing that is knowing that I have more power than I ever realized.
